Cinderella’s closing announced out of the blue!

Practical information - CD's tracks - Video - Creative - Cast

Last Sunday, after the performance, Andrew Lloyd Webber announced to the cast and creative that “Cinderella”, currently running at London's Gillian Lynne Theatre, will close on June 12, even though new cast members were supposed to start in the show from July. The musical has suffered massive losses since its opening due to a postponed opening, a short hiatus last summer in order to make changes to the show and government restrictions that reduced the capacity of the performance during its previews. During this period that the show was run, it is estimated a weekly loss of £100,000.

The availability of tickets in the coming weeks is high. This could be the reason why the producers have decided to close the show less than 12 months after its opening.
A Broadway opening is headed in March 2023 with previews from February. No theatre has been announced.
Cast and creative are listed below.
