Ce soir la cérémonie des Olivier Awards s'est déroulée au Royal Albert Hall. Jason Manford présentait la soirée retransmise en directe sur ITV et sur Facebook Live en dehors du Royaume-Uni.
“Company” et “Come From Away” arrivaient en tête des nominations dans 9 catégories. Venaient ensuite la pièce “The Inheritance” (Noël Coward Theatre) et la reprise du musical “The King And I” (London Palladium) avec respectivement 8 et 6 nominations.
Les comédies musicales “Company” et “Come From Away”, ainsi que la pièce “The Inheritance” repartent avec 4 récompenses, “The King And I” ne remporte que le prix des meilleurs costumes.
